A half shaft is a solid shaft that transmits power between which parts
The half shaft (Driver Shaft), also called the rotating shaft (CVJ, CV joint, constant velocity joint), is the shaft that connects the transfer case and the driving wheel to each other. The half shaft is the shaft that transmits the torque between the transmission reducer and the driving wheel, and there is a cross shaft (U/JOINT) at the inner and outer ends, respectively, according to the spline shaft on the cross shaft. .
Auto half-shaft waterproof casing is a high-quality carbon steel and alloy tool steel hot-rolled seamless steel pipe useful for the production of automobile half-shaft waterproof casing and driver axle housing. The common half shafts of contemporary automobiles, according to their different supporting forms, have two types: full floating and semi-floating.
Full-floating semi-axle: It only transmits the torque and does not bear all the axial force and bending moment, so it is widely used in various automobiles. The full-floating axle shaft is easy to disassemble, and the axle shaft can be pulled out by simply twisting the anchor bolts on the flange of the axle shaft, and the wheel wheel and axle housing can still be used in the car, thus providing convenience for the maintenance of the car.
Semi-floating semi-shaft: It not only transmits torque but also bears all axial forces and bending moments. Its supporting structure is simple and low-cost, so it is widely used in various cars with small axial force and bending moment. However, it is inconvenient to dismantle and remove this kind of half-shaft support, and if the half-shaft is broken during the driving of the vehicle, it is easy to cause the risk of the wheel wheel flying off.
